Production method and application of α - acetyl - γ - butyrolactone

Main use: An important intermediate for the synthesis of vitamin B, as well as an intermediate for the synthesis of 3,4-disubstituted pyridine and 5- (β - hydroxyethyl) -4-methylthiazole.
Production method:
1. Gamma butyrolactone is synthesized by Claisen condensation with vinyl acetate.
2. Ethyl acetoacetate (or methyl acetoacetate) is synthesized by condensation and cyclization with ethylene oxide.
